At Riverside Elementary being in first grade is a time for first things.  Being at school for a whole day, going all day without a naptime, reading that first book at home, doing nightly homework assignments and taking that first test are just some of the first things.  The students are eager to learn and share with each other.  Reading is a big step for our students and many opportunities are given to experience other new concepts in mathematics, science, social studies, and creativity.
