COMMENTS: The Board had all good comments
about the celebrations held in our schools in honor of Veteran's Day.
They also commented on Mr. Price being honored at Augusta Prep at the
Chamber's Success meeting. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION:
Karen Ribble, CCBOE Community Relations, spoke on behalf
of GSPRA Chapter
President Mike Wooten and presented Mr. Price the GSPRA award for
Outstanding Leadership in School/Community Relations. Read

BOARD
ITEMS:
Roxanne Whitaker handed all BOE members information from GSBA. Wayne
Bridges provided an update and handout from the Consortium of School
Funding asking to reconsider proposal.
NEXT MEETING: The next scheduled Board meeting will be a Study Session on
November 28 at the Board of Education Office in Evans at 6:00pm.

The Board
gave final approval of consent items: minutes of 9/25/06, 9/26/06, 10/3/06,
10/10/06 and 10/17/06, September financials, employee travel, fundraisers, gift and
donations,
athletic camps, and partners in education. The Board also gave approval to
Judge Flanagan's proposed Actions and Consequences Program and the contract
renewal with Community Service Board of East Central Georgia. Budget Amendments/Transfers.

Board Policies. The Board gave final approval to a new policy
and procedure GBU (2)/CB (2) - Confidential Records.

2007-2008 Projected Enrollment. The Board gave tentative
approval to a system projected enrollment for 2007-2008 of 22,107
students or an increase of 680 students. Mr. Price will work on projections
for individual schools at present at a later date.
BUILDING
PROGRAM Project Update. Mr. Price updated the Board on the
various building projects going on within the county: painting at LHS;
Consumer science lab upgrades at CMS/HMS; Evans Middle
(completed 10/30/06); New Administration Building
(3rd floor completed 10/16/06); Twelve Classroom Additions at
Lewiston and River Ridge; the New Elementary School in
Grovetown (view
progress); and the New Middle School #3 on
Blackstone Camp Road (view
progress).
Request to Purchase .32 of an acre of Evans High School Property.
Mr. Price presented to the Board a developer's proposal to purchase an
area of EHS behind the stadium for access to a new subdivision. The
Board agreed to table it to review at next meeting.
SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT
Zoning Options for
Elementary No. 6 in Grovetown. Mr. Nagle began a discussion on
the rezoning possibilities for the new elementary school in Grovetown.
Elementary school zones were reviewed for North Harlem, Euchee Creek,
Grovetown, Lewiston, and Brookwood. Mr. Nagle will provide detail maps for
public input at the next BOE meeting.
2005-2006 System Annual Report. Mr. Price presented the
2005-2006 System Annual Report, which includes outlines progress made
toward meeting our system goals. (View

Columbia County Critical Incident Response. Mr. Price
reviewed the Columbia County Critical Incident Response prepared by Pam
Tucker's office. The report outlines our responsibilities for
Columbia County Schools in the event of an area emergency.
