Heating Element Causes Smoke in Classroom
Grovetown Fire Department Responds Quickly
- No Delay in the Start of School
At a approximately 7:15am this morning a heating element in
one of the individual classroom heating units
at Grovetown Elementary School overheated causing smoke to filter into the room. Students in the before school program were
relocated until the fire department could determine that there was no damage to
the building and it was safe for occupancy.
The building has been cleared and there will be no delay to the start of
school. Students and faculty should
report to school as usual. Any questions or concerns may be directed to the Grovetown
Elementary or district office.
