The proposed rezoning plan for the new elementary school in Grovetown was approved by the Columbia County Board of Education to present to the public for input at two public meetings:

The new elementary school in Grovetown will have a total
capacity of 51 classrooms funded 100% by SPLOST and local funds. The last two
new elementary schools constructed in Columbia County, Lewiston and River
Ridge, were built with state funds for only 39 classrooms based on the existing
student enrollment. With the increase in
student enrollment over the projections, a 12-classroom addition is scheduled
to begin next month at both
The following schools zones will be reviewed for public input as possible options for rezoning to the new elementary school scheduled to open fall 2007: (see map)
Grovetown Elementary; Euchee Creek Elementary; North Harlem Elementary (Wrightsboro Road to East White Oak); Lewiston Elementary (Louisville Road to Baker Place, Baker Place to Chamblin Road); and Brookwood Elementary (Old Wheeler Road and area west).
