Local High Schools to Host Augusta Spring College Tour

College and Career Fair for Columbia County Students

Columbia County High Schools will host several venues across the county for the Annual Augusta Spring College Tour on Thursday, April 20, 2006. Over 50 representatives from public and private colleges throughout the Southeast, and the armed services are expected to visit all four area high schools and meet with students/parents about admissions, scholarships, college majors, and sports programs.   A representative from the Georgia Student Finance Commission (The H.O.P.E. agency) will also be present.  “The college fair offers students and parents the opportunity to meet with admission representatives early in the career/college planning stage and ask questions that can be addressed in a friendly comfortable atmosphere,” said Michel Young, guidance counselor at Greenbrier High.

The College Tour begins at Lakeside High School from 8:30am-10:30am.  The next stop is at Greenbrier High School, sponsored by both Evans and Greenbrier High Schools and is from 6:30pm to 8:30pm in the Main Entrance Hall.  Students and parents from the CSRA area are invited to attend the evening event at Greenbrier High.  Admission is free. The final stop in our County is at Harlem High on April 21 from 8:30-10:00am. For a list of colleges click here or contact Greenbrier High School Guidance Office at 650-6040, or the Evans High School Guidance Office at 863-1198.
