Four Schools Ordered Into a Security Lockdown

Sheriff’s Department in pursuit of suspect on foot

This notification is to alert parents and staff that at 7:45am this morning four Columbia County schools were ordered into a security lockdown. During a routine traffic stop by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department, the driver questioned fled on foot in the McCormick Road area. The schools in lockdown are: Blue Ridge Elementary, South Columbia Elementary, Lakeside Middle and Lakeside High.

The lockdown of these four schools is a precautionary measure until the individual is apprehended by the Sheriff’s Department.
