Community Conversation on Educational Excellence
with Governor Sonny Purdue and Superintendent Kathy Cox

What would you do if you had control of a school’s budget?
What would you fund? What would you cut?

On October 26, 2005, you'll have a chance to share your public education priorities with Governor Sonny Perdue, State Superintendent of Schools Kathy Cox, Chairman Dean Alford and members of the Governor's Education Finance Task Force.  With limited resources, decision makers must make tough, but smart, decisions about how to use resources efficiently and effectively to bring about the desired result - increased student achievement.

This second Community Conversation on Educational Excellence will be broadcast across the state via the Georgia Public Broadcasting Satellite System.  The Governor’s Task Force is asking Georgians to roll up their sleeves and dissect a school budget in order to target resources toward the specific needs of students.  In order for this exercise to be insightful, we need the expertise of the entire community.  We need everyone to be involved.   Plan to attend the conversation to contribute to this important discussion.
