GEORGIA TEACHER CERTIFICATION ASSESSMENT PROGRAM

All persons with renewable certificates which expire on or after July 1, 1986, must pass the specified assessment in the field of certification in order for the certificate to be renewed.  A person with certificates in multiple areas must pass the test in each area in order for the certificates to be renewed.

Persons who apply for a certificate in a different field or who apply for an advanced certificate must  take and pass the appropriate assessment test prior to the date of application for the new certificate.

 

Effective July 1, 1997, a passing score on the Educational Testing Service (ETS) Praxis II content knowledge examination(s) applicable to the field of certification is required for Georgia certification.  Registration materials for the Praxis II exams, study guides, TAAGS (Tests at a Glance), Understanding Your Praxis Scores, and the Georgia Supplement to the Registration Bulletin, test sites, and test dates may be obtained from Educational Testing Service at (800) 772-9476 or (609) 771-7395.  All test registration forms and fees must be returned to: The Praxis Series, Educational Testing Service, P. O. Box 6051, Princeton, New Jersey 08541-6051. Registration through the Internet is available through the website at http://www.ets.org/praxis/.
