Board of Education Policies

 

     Each employee of the Columbia County School System can access the Columbia County Board of Education Administrative Procedures through the web page.  It is the responsibility of the employee to become thoroughly familiar with the policies of the board. Each employee is expected to abide by and to enforce the policies of the Columbia County Board of Education.

 

     It is the belief of the Columbia County Board of Education that all parties to be affected by  policies will be provided an opportunity to provide input and suggestions for policy development; whether for recommendations for the development of new policies, the revision of existing policies or the deletion of outdated  policies.

 

     In the interest of the continuous growth and development of the Columbia County School System, it is necessary that all school personnel become thoroughly familiar with the established policies under which the schools operate.  It is the responsibility of the local administrator to interpret and familiarize all members of the staff with the established school policies.

 

     The policies have been assembled and compiled from the following sources:  Federal Laws; Georgia Public School Standards; Georgia State Laws; Georgia Department of Education Rules and Regulations; Georgia Accrediting Commission Policies; Georgia High School Association; Georgia School Board Association recommended policies; Columbia County Board of Education Policies; County Administrative Policies; Southern Association of Colleges and Schools standards and Professional Standards Commission rules.
