The road to the
football playoffs just got more
difficult for schools in Columbia and
Richmond counties.
That was the
general reaction Wednesday after the
Georgia High School Association released
its region alignments for the next two
years. The changes begin next fall.
The three
remaining Columbia County schools --
Lakeside, Greenbrier and Evans -- are in
a Region 2-AAAA sub region with
Statesboro, Effingham County and South
Effingham. Greenbrier returns to Class
AAAA following a two-year, travel-heavy
hiatus in Class AAAAA. (Complete

The
ruling mascot in the Columbia County Royal Court. This
long-time leader of the Knights is battle tested and can
raise up an army of fans to support the home team in
Evans.
Mascots are people too
(sort of)
We love our football in the
south! And when the lights go up on Friday nights, our
mascots lead the charge onto the field.
Mascots are symbols of
competitiveness and team spirit. The best one's have
personality and demonstrate a spirit of sportsmanship
and camaraderie.
