Crossroads Academy Philosophy

 

    Based on a belief that all students should be afforded every opportunity to receive an education, Crossroads Academy has been designed as a transitional school for students whose disruptive or inappropriate behavior has removed them from the regular school setting.

    Having adopted a zero tolerance for failure, Crossroads Academy believes that a positive learning environment that stresses parental involvement, appropriate counseling, enhancement of self-esteem, decision-making skills, improvement of academic skills, and structured expectations will promote student success while preparing the students to return successfully to their home school.

    Crossroads Academy further believes in the importance of establishing a strong community support system and will maintain a Collaborative Advisory Committee comprised of area professionals who are also committed to high student expectations and achievement.

    Because Crossroads Academy believes that parental support and student commitment are essential to the success of this program and that clear and effective communication among the students, parents, teachers, and community is essential to the building of respect and trust and integral to the development of a strong transitional program, the school will maintain strong lines of communication with the family.

    Crossroads Academy believes that all students are capable of experiencing success and will utilize all resources available in attaining this goal.
