Business Department - Miscellaneous Assets
CCBOE's definition of Miscellaneous Assets is any assets
not defined as fixed. Miscellaneous Assets includes the following:
- Furniture (student desks, tables, chairs etc.)
- Instructional materials
- Custodial items
- Outdated electronic equipment
Miscellaneous Asset

- Will tag miscellaneous items with a blue inventory tag (ongoing during school year).
- Will videotape school assets (walk-through of each classroom and building facility) and
provide to central office fixed asset accountant by September 15. (beginning of
school year)
- Will receive a signed asset verification form (twice a year) from each teacher, media
specialist, office staff, lunchroom manager, head custodian, and maintenance staff.
Quantities of all miscellaneous assets with a general description should be listed on the
asset verification form. (beginning AND end of school year)
- Will conduct a physical audit of six asset verification forms to verify the documented
quantities agree with the physical quantities. (beginning AND end of school year)
Media Specialist
Will maintain an inventory of all media books using the media software program (ongoing
during school year).
Will maintain an inventory on all other miscellaneous equipment using the media software
program as agreed upon by the Columbia County Association of Library Media Specialists (ongoing
during the school year).
Will adhere to Policy IFA and Procedure IFA (D) Attachment 5 - checking out of school
media equipment (ongoing during the school year).
Band Director
Will be responsible for all band equipment on the school fixed asset list (ongoing
during school year).
Will issue and assign band equipment to students (ongoing during the school year).
Will audit the band equipment two weeks prior to the last day of school (end of
school year).
